Product Description

Loxley is a lightweight, handheld Full Motion Video (FMV) receiver using Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) technology. Loxley is compatible with FMV downlink equipment that is already in service and deployed with both military and emergency services around the World.

COFDM is a state of the art, extremely robust transmission technique using multiple carriers to provide high quality real time video. COFDM allows Data Links to operate in situations where conventional video links would fail.

The Loxley is designed for light or dismounted use; the unit is capable of decrypting, decoding and presenting all downlink signal products via a single, rugged connector. A single cable connected to the connector breakouts video, audio and data from the Loxley. The video is output in both SVGA and CVBS formats and may be fed to a range of external displays and eye pieces. The Loxley receiver has been optimised for covert surveillance tasks and is able to provide a video feed to a non-light emitting external eye-piece. The monitor presents the selected video product from the COFDM link together with the current Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS/GPS) location of the transmitter, received signal strength and remaining battery life. The unit, being small and ruggedised, is easily carried and rapidly deployed. Loxley may be used in a fixed observation post, for dismounted patrol use or in a mobile vehicle-based role.

Control of the Loxley unit is through on-screen display menus providing selection of the video channel, video format, encryption mode and frequency channel. Control may also be remoted. A single rotary switch on the top of the set or an external control may be used to navigate the on-screen display menus. Diversity and non-diversity options are available. The diversity option using two antenna inputs provides up to an additional 6-8 dB link improvement over an equivalent single antenna system.
