Product Description
The Evenlode WCM is a lightweight, low–power unit, ruggedised and approved for installation on to air platforms. The module is designed to be installed as part of an Evenlode Air Data Terminal however may also be integrated as part of other systems to provide a wireless gateway into any IP data interface.
The Evenlode WCM provides an IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) wireless signal in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The radiated power of the Evenlode WCM may be controlled in order to provide sufficient connectivity as required throughout the air frame, but not so much as to extend this connectivity outside the air frame. Two antenna options are provided to also facilitate connectivity only where required: a low-gain omnidirectional antenna and, a higher-gain more directional patch antenna. The module may be configured with the Evenlode Air Data Terminal to activate above a certain flying height if required for additional security.
Integrated into an Evenlode III Air Data Terminal, The Evenlode WCM provides wireless access into the air-ground IP information data exchange. This may allow wireless access on the air platform to an operators’ secure ground network via the Evenlode air-to-ground link; allowing a rapidly changing live operational picture to be visible to an air platform operator, or to forces ready to launch on a deployment.
The Evenlode WCM in conjunction with a ground gateway system may also allow Wi-Fi mobile telephone calling on the air platform. The Evenlode WCM, together with a range of bespoke operator interfaces designed by ECS, allows wireless in-flight control of the Evenlode system. The Evenlode WCM is a unique piece of enhancing technology, designed as part of the Evenlode series and with operational knowledge, the Evenlode WCM extends the functionality of the Evenlode air system allowing the operator to use ‘Bring Your Own Devices.’
