Fremont, CA – 12 April 2022. The Department of Electronic Communications (DEC) of the Republic of Cyprus selected TCI to provide its new National Radio Frequency Monitoring System.
TCI was awarded the international tender issued by DEC for a turnkey spectrum monitoring and direction-finding system that includes five fixed and two mobile stations, all with upgraded monitoring, TDOA and DF functionality with installation, training and 10-year maintenance services. The system also includes a full-featured monitoring control center that provides an interface to their license database, along with portable measuring equipment for 5G applications.
The upgrade includes the replacement of four existing and the addition of one new fixed spectrum monitoring site with the TCI Model 739 Compact Spectrum Monitoring equipment and TCI’s Scorpio™ software. The two new mobile monitoring stations will also be equipped with the TCI Model 739, thus providing DEC with a common and integrated platform that can be operated from any Scorpio client within DEC’s National Spectrum Monitoring and Management System. According to a DEC official, “With the new equipment from TCI International, the Republic of Cyprus will manage to successfully monitor the radio frequency spectrum within the country.”
DEC and TCI signed the contract for this initiative in June 2021 and work began in late 2021. Completion of the final phases is expected in 2022.
TCI is excited to be DEC’s selected supplier for such an important system that will provide the latest generation spectrum monitoring tools for The Republic of Cyprus.
