Product Description

Because of seasonal and diurnal variations of the ionosphere, shortwave broadcasters have found it necessary to change frequencies at regular intervals. Frequency changes can be simplified with the use of wideband, frequency-independent antennas. The Model 515 and 516 high-power log-periodic antennas are well suited for this application.

For medium-range broadcasting (700 km to 3000 km) moderate transmitter power and high take-off angles are required. The Model 515 and 516 log- periodic antennas are optimum for this application, and have the ability to handle 100 kW carrier power with 100% modulation. A version of the Model 516 is available that can handle 250 kW with 100% modulation.

The 515 provides take-off angles of 30 to 45 degrees, and the 516 provides a take-off angle of 21 degrees for slightly longer paths. Both antennas have negligible side and back lobes, low VSWR, and are extremely efficient, resulting in high ERP and received signal level.

Combine frequency independence with high ERP

The radiator design is the equivalent of “fattened” radiators with lowered Q and reduced voltage stress. These radiators also increase the effective “active region” radiating length in each curtain, resulting in greater radiation efficiency and higher power gain. TCI analytical techniques provide large volumetrical apertures and resultant high power gain while maintaining log-periodic performance.

As with all TCI antennas, the 515 and 516 utilise high-quality, rugged, exhaustively tested components and materials. No fiberglass assemblies are used. Alumoweld wire, segmented where necessary with high-quality ceramic fail-safe insulators, is used to provide long and trouble-free service life. Carefully tested corona-protection details are employed where necessary in the curtain. No dissimilar contacts, which have historically been the major cause of corrosion, exist anywhere in the tower structure or antenna curtains.

A precisely manufactured, electrically transparent Alumoweld structure is used instead.

Product Description

Evenlode Series is a range of equipment providing capability for a range of Information Exchange Requirements; equipment may be deployed for air, ground and maritime applications. Evenlode is offered at three levels of complexity with a defined upgrade path. Upgrading from Evenlode I to Evenlode II to Evenlode III uses the previously installed hardware. Following initial deployment of technology, further capability may be added should the Concept of Operations be developed or changed.

Evenlode I Video Transmitter. An Evenlode I air transceiver and Evenlode I ground transceiver and receiver may be used to downlink dual High-Definition video, audio, GPS data and telemetry data from the air platform to the ground.

Evenlode II Video Transceiver. Evenlode II air equipment may be used to extend the range of a downlink via a relay system. An Evenlode II air transceiver and Evenlode II ground transceiver provides optional two-way video, audio, GPS and serial telemetry data capability.

Evenlode III Data Terminal. Evenlode III has the data exchange capability of Evenlode II. In addition, air and ground equipment may be deployed to extend the full range of Internet Protocol (IP) services to the air platform; these include internet in the air, remote sensor control from the ground, remote access to databases, augmented reality and shared white-boarding applications. The link between a pair of Evenlode III terminals behaves, in networking terms, as an Ethernet cable with a maximum data rate defined by the radio link parameters.

Air equipment from the Evenlode Series is provided with omnidirectional antennas for point-to-multipoint video exchange. Ground equipment can be offered with a range of omnidirectional and position-steered antenna systems. The complexity of the antenna is dependent upon range and deployment requirements. Static ground equipment may be deployed across a wide area and networked to provide extended coverage.

ECS supplies an extensive range of ground receiving systems and transceivers capable of integrating with Evenlode. These include fixed, vehicle-borne, briefcase and handheld receivers and transceivers. ECS is able to provide omnidirectional, diversity, sector tracking, multi-input diversity and high-gain GPS tracking ground station options.

Product Description

The TCI Model 803 is a compact Direction Finding (DF) subsystem for Communications Intelligence (COMINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) applications. The 803 integrates seamlessly with TCI’s Blackbird NextGen COMINT / EW platform to provide a complete signal search, collection, direction finding and geolocation solution.

The 803 continuously scans, detects, DFs, and records DF results in tasked frequency channels on a 4 or 40 MHz instantaneous bandwidth. Bandwidth is tunable over the 20 to 3,000 or 20 to 8,000 MHz frequency ranges. The dual 40/4 MHz wideband DF capability enables the Model 803 to detect and capture weak signals in crowded RF environments using the 4MHz instantaneous bandwidth and detect short duration, frequency-agile and wide-bandwidth signals using the 40 MHz bandwidth.

The 803 is available with any of TCI’s single – band VHF/UHF/ SHF monitor and DF antennas. Antenna options include the Model 641
for high – accuracy DF on vertically polarised signals in fixed and mobile applications, the compact, low – profile Model 645 for mobile and transportable applications from 20 MHz to 3,000 MHz. For higher frequencies, the Model 803 can use the Model 647 antenna, the first antenna to provide high – accuracy DF on vertically polarised signals in fixed and mobile applications from 20 MHz to 8 GHz.

Product Description

The TCI Model 802C provides field-proven DF and signal acquisition in an integrated solution for COMINT applications. The 802C is based on an open and flexible client/server architecture that combines fast wideband signal search and direction finding with a complete set of signal analysis tools, including classification, decoding, demodulation and recording. It simultaneously supports automatic and manual signal intercept missions.

The 802C processes any signal activity and performs detailed analysis of specific signals of interest in either real-time or delayed (post-facto) mode. The analysis function includes detection, location, recording and archiving of signal activities.

In typical automatic mode, the 802C rapidly searches the spectrum for RF energy using fine frequency resolution parameters. When new energy is detected, the system automatically determines the direction of the energy source, archives it for future analysis and passes it in real time for further processing to automatic and manual intercept processing. The Signal of Interest (SOI) parameters available for future processing include time of intercepts, frequency, bandwidth, signal direction and signal location if system is configured to use optional Single Site Location (SSL) processing. SSL processing uses measured elevation data and ionospheric data from an optional sounder processor.

The DF RF chain uses two receiver channels connected to the DF antenna array. With automatic noise and co-channel interference suppression, the system can perform automatic DF and modulation analysis on any type of signal. The analysis function provides transmitter parameters including frequency, direction and/or location, bandwidth, and time of transmission.
